BOY CRUSH: KEVIN QUINN

Etc.

Sep 30, 2016

Meet Kevin Quinn, actor/singer has appeared Showtime’s “Shameless” and NBC’s “Chicago PD”, which lead to his staring roles in the Disney Channels original smash series Bunk’d.

This summer, Quinn stared in a modern take of the 80’s comedy “Adventures in Babysitting”, appropriately titled “Further Adventures in Babysitting” which made us sit up and pay attention so we couldn’t wait to meet-up with Kevin and get the 411 on breaking into the industry and his love music. Check it out…

What gets me up in the morning? Hmm. I have many reasons to get up in the morning, but I think the biggest one is not knowing what each day is going to entail. Work is obviously a very important part of my life, (and a sufficient reason for me to continue waking up in the morning), but I also love getting up and not knowing what will happen throughout my day, I enjoy the unknown. It makes each day more surprising and fun when something spontaneous happens, and I am a very, very spontaneous person.

Your biggest virtue?  My biggest virtue is by far patience. I believe everything happens for a reason, and although I am not the most patient person, I have faith in the idea that the best is always yet to come. Also, if things aren’t going your way, they will get better. In whatever way that might be.

Your biggest vice? My biggest vice is overthinking. I am a very self-aware, connected person, and I always like to think deep. It’s a great quality to have, but I think sometimes I get too absorbed in my own thoughts that it just becomes rabbit hole of sorts.

Do you have a party trick?  I think my biggest party trick is in my really hard attempts to impersonate other people. It always ends up making people laugh, just because I try so hard and it usually sounds nothing like that particular person.

How would you describe your style? My style is very simplistic. I used to like wearing bright colors and hip urban outfits, but I have started wearing more neutral colors and clothes. I wouldn’t mind wearing jeans and a cool graphic t-shirt for the rest of my days. Basically, I like hip and in styles, but I also have started to appreciate simplicity.

What would constitute a perfect day for you? My perfect day would start by waking up to a cup of coffee out on the patio, and then working on writing a song for a couple hours. If we could throw in an acting gig somewhere in the mix towards the afternoon, then that would be ideal…regardless, at the end of the day, I would like to come home, watch TV, write a story or poem, or read a book. Really anything that involves decompressing and letting my mind wander for a bit.

What would your very last meal entail? My very last meal would entail a hearty, expensive Japanese Wagyu steak! I had it once at this really fancy restaurant, and it was by far the best meat I had ever had. Definitely the tenderest meat I’ve tried.

Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner? Paul McCartney, Charlton Heston, and Ronald Reagan

Turn ons?  Good smile, laughs at my dad jokes, sexy and stylish, empathetic

Turn offs? Emotionally unaware, lack of self-reflection, unable to take constructive criticism,
easily distracted

Tell us a secret. I have a (not so secret) love for poetry. I write it all the time. Usually it’s the
poems I write that become my self-written songs!

Your favorite quote?  “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen” –
Ralph Waldo Emerson

An embarrassing moment? One of my most embarrassing moments was when I started singing at the wrong queue in a
school musical in front of all my friends. It was so obvious, and everyone was giggling to
themselves haha.

Your proudest moment?  My proudest moment was being able to write a speech and speak at my high school on
behalf of the Enriching Lives through Service Club, which is a small neighborhood
organization that works to support autistic children.

Could you tell us more about some of the projects you are working on? I am always looking to work on new projects, and although I currently have work with
Disney, I am always auditioning. Some things are on the brink right now that I’m beyond excited about, but I can’t say just yet what they are…in other news, however, I am constantly writing new music and am hoping to have an album or EP out to the world sometime next year.
