Meet our new obsession! Victoria Konefal you can currently see her as Ciara Brady on the Daytime Emmy-winning soap opera Days of Our Lives. Her character, Ciara, is a fierce young woman with a rough past. Despite issues with the law and her parents tumultuous relationship, she is growing and maturing into a strong individual who is making her mark on Salem. The show recently won best Outstanding Drama Series at the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
We got a chance to meet up with Victoria on her photo shoot in LA and asked her some of our exclusive questions.
What is it like acting on soap opera, Days of our lives, is it different than the work you normally do?
It definitely took some getting used to! The biggest difference is the pace at which we work. When I was filming movies, we would get 4-5 takes per scene, but on soaps you get one take and that’s it! Sometimes we don’t even rehearse, we just jump right in. It was difficult to acclimate, but it got easier over time. In the end, it’s instilled this crazy work ethic in me which I’m extremely thankful for.
How are you and your character, Ciara Brady, similar? And how are you and you different?
We have some similarities but ultimately Ciara has some growing up to do, in terms of her bratty attitude. Every teen goes through it, but I outgrew it years ago. It’s starting to come together for her though, and she’s in a situation right now that forces her to make serious life choices. Hopefully she will learn a little something about herself.
Dream concert ticket (any band, any decade)?
Michael Jackson would have been incredible to see live. Seeing Guns n’ Roses would also be pretty dope.
Skrillex and Diplo.
Eminem is always number one, and the rest change throughout the course of my life. I’m into Jessie Reyes at the moment, her sound is really fresh.
Anything by Britney Spears.
The answer to that question always differs depending on the latest films I’ve seen, right now my answer is the Disaster Artist.
This is kind of embarrassing, but I’ve been binge watching baking shows on Netflix. I don’t know why, I love them.
Last fashion item purchased?
I got this gorgeous gold ring in Greece recently!
Three people—dead or alive, real or fictional—that you’d like to invite to dinner?
Plato, William Shakespeare and Jesus. I just have so many questions for all of them.
Do you have a party trick?
I can open a beer bottle with my teeth.
Tell us a secret?
I play fortnite.
What does popular mean to you?
Popular means whatever you want it to mean. It all boils down to loving yourself and the people around you.
Can you tell us about any shows or projects you have coming up?
Unfortunately, my filming schedule for Days of Our Lives makes it hard for me to find any other projects that I can work on. We’re trying though!
