POPULAR takes over New York Fashion Week aka #NYFW for Fall Winter 2016 collections…. We kicked it off at Berlin for the Madewell x Daryl K collaboration launch party. Wild Belle played (!!!), and got to catch up with friends Jamie Chung and Debby Ryan.
The V files show was full of guests in the most embellished eccentric outfits, I would put it. To be quite honest I felt like an outsider- not wearing anything neon inspired by a disco ball or chandelier, but I wasn’t the only one feeling a little out of place with Tony Hawk sitting front row. The runway show featured 5 up and coming designers; Anton Belinskiy, Hardeman (genderless jeans designer), Kim Shui, Neuro Couture, and Ottolinger which was more like a crazy party including a drumline, puppies, surprise performances by Tyga and Sophie Been, A-track on the decks, Kylie Jenner with her squad getting in and out of their seats, and upside down denim skirt.
After the Cobra Snake and I went to Milk Studios for a super private performance by 2 Chainz in the Trap Basement. Medical masks were given out to the crowd in case guests did not want to breathe in the gas fumes that were coming from the hands-on trap basement installation, which included ovens, baby bottles, baking soda, and Pyrex measuring dishes… So yes, it was awesome walking into a tiny basement seeing people were wearing medical masks and drinking out of baby bottles.
The A Detacher show at Pier 59 was a collection of what it looked like, tons of layering with extremely comfy sweaters in all forms. Loving the bits of pink that I had been seeing this season.
Headed over to Pamella Roland’s show which was sophisticatedly glamorous, aaaand got to sit next to one of my favorite sets of sister Paris and Nicky (congrats on the baby news!).
So adorable she grabbed her daughter and they both walked back on the catwalk. Then hit the POPULAR TV x Guess party! Check it out HERE
Jill Stuart’s show had an essence of bohemian punk rocker, if i had to describe it. Take a look at the show and backstage fun with Alix Brown.
Buzzed over to the Mara Hoffman Presentation which was very pretty per usual. There were two girls playing violins doing covers while the huge crowd tried to get snapshots up front, and not just of the 3 adorable red headed models just hangin’ out being cute. LOVE LOVE LOVE the sage colored crushed velvet going on.
Three As Four show was the coolest. It was a game of musical chairs with the models in part spandex and incredible 3D dresses. Also the frog-like leader created a vibe like you were just sitting in a jungle watching this production. So radical.
MIU MIU had a get together at En Japanese Brasserie for the launch of Miu Miu Women’s Tales ‘Seed’ ,#11, a short film by Naomi Kawase. A day in the life/adventuring in Japan (while wearing Miu Miu of course) was the theme of the short. Everyone was there and everyone was dressed in Miu Miu. That was party to be at let me tell you!! I had a great time AND I can’t wait to see the next one.
